Neuroprotective and Anti-Microglial Activation Effects of Tocotrienols in Brains of Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Model Mice

چکیده

Inflammation is the cause and/or result of many diseases in peripheral tissues and central nervous system. Recent findings suggested that inflammation tissue induces an inflammatory response brain activates glial cells, which, turn, induce neuronal cell dysfunction. Therefore, anti-inflammatory compounds are important for suppression chronic prevention disease. The present study revealed microglial activation hippocampus two days after administration lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Furthermore, expression synaptic vesicle membrane protein, synaptophysin, CA3 stratum lucidum was down-regulated 7 LPS injection. tocotrienols, a type vitamin E, significantly attenuated these changes hippocampus. Collectively, results demonstrated spread responses to brain, which dysfunction were induced, while tocotrienols exerted effects protected neurons from damage.

Anti-inflammatory Effect of Ethanolic Extract of Euphorbia myrsinites in Lipopolysaccharide-induced Septic Shock in Mice

Background and purpose: Many herbs including Euphorbia have immunomodulatory properties. The aim of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of the ethanolic extract of E.myrsinites. Materials and methods: In this experimental study, 40 Swiss albino male mice were randomly divided into 4 groups. Group A included healthy mice, group B was induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), grou...

Anti-inflammatory Effects of Oxymatrine Through Inhibition of Nuclear Factor–kappa B and Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Activation in Lipopolysaccharide-induced BV2 Microglia Cells

Oxymatrine, a potent monosomic alkaloid extracted from Chinese herb Sophora japonica (Sophora flavescens Ait.). possesses anti-inflammatory activittyes.  This study was designed to investigate the effects of oxymatrine on nuclear factor–kappa B (NF-κB) and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-dependent inflammatory responses in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated microglia. In this paper, BV2...

A Study of Acute and Chronic Anti-Nociceptive and Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Thiamine in Mice

Background: Thiamine (VitB1) is a vitamin with various important physiological functions and postulated therapeutic effects.  Its use as an analgesic in neuropathic pain has been undergoing in clinical settings. However, there has been little experimental investigation on this effect. In this study, anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of thiamine were investigated in mice. Methods: T...

Inhibitory Effects of Ketamine on Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Microglial Activation

Microglia activated in response to brain injury release neurotoxic factors including nitric oxide (NO) and proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta). Ketamine, an anesthetic induction agent, is generally reserved for use in patients with severe hypotension or respiratory depression. In this study, we found that ketamine (100 and 2...
